JACK WILMS

Master Woodcarver

Master woodcarver Jack Wilms helped shape the unique character of Secrets on the Lake through his beautiful red cedar creations. From the iconic reception door to handcrafted furnishings and rainforestinspired carvings, Jack’s artistry can be discovered throughout the property and remains an important part of the Secrets story.

ROB JOHNSTON

Master Woodcarver, Landscaper

Rob’s creativity extends far beyond carving. He designed the iconic swing seats found beside each treehouse, carefully shaping them for comfort and timeless appeal. His vision can also be seen in The Wishing Chair, The Hideaway, the carved cedar reception desk, and the impressive entrance bridge leading guests to reception. Through his craftsmanship, innovation, and attention to detail, Rob has left a lasting mark on the Secrets experience.

Roger Chadwick

Master Woodcarver

Master craftsman Roger Chadwick played a significant role in creating the unique character of Secrets on the Lake. Best known for designing the themed front doors of the treehouses, Roger crafted each piece to reflect the story and personality of its cabin. His artistry can also be found throughout the property in decorative glass features, carved timber details, and custom creations that continue to welcome and inspire guests today.

Ralf Driessen

Master Sculptor

Renowned metal artist Ralf Driessen brought a unique creative vision to Secrets on the Lake. His handcrafted ironwork can be found throughout the property, from the balustrading in Two Frogs to striking custom pieces created for the treehouses. Known for his exceptional skill and innovative designs, Ralf’s work combines artistry with functionality, adding character, beauty, and a distinctive touch to the Secrets experience.

Marion Uithol

Stained Glass

Renowned stained glass artist Marion Uithol has left an enduring legacy at Secrets on the Lake. Beginning with the iconic “Two Frogs” window that inspired the Secrets logo, Marion created a collection of original stained glass artworks that grace the treehouses throughout the property. Designed and handcrafted with remarkable creativity and skill, her pieces capture the beauty of the rainforest and fill each space with colour, warmth, and light.

Lindsay Muir

SCULPTURAL CERAMIC ARTIST

Ceramic artist Lindsay Muir has been an important part of the Secrets story since the opening of the Art Gallery in 2012. Inspired by the beauty of the rainforest, his detailed sculptures of frogs, leaves, and native creatures can be found throughout the property. Each piece reflects a deep connection to nature and has been carefully selected to complement the unique character of our treehouses, bringing a touch of the rainforest indoors.

Bob Artman

WOOD WORK

Bob Artman’s craftsmanship can be found in many of the thoughtful details throughout Secrets on the Lake. Known for his precision and meticulous attention to detail, Bob designed and crafted the timber surrounds for the spa baths, cabinetry, and many functional features within the treehouses. His skill provided the perfect foundation for some of Secrets’ most iconic handcrafted pieces, blending practicality, comfort, and timeless craftsmanship.

Cathy Lawley

Ceramic Artists

Ceramic artist Cathy Lawley brought a touch of magic to Secrets on the Lake through her distinctive handcrafted creations. Best known for the iconic mushroom lamps that softly illuminate the boardwalks each evening, Cathy’s work has become a cherished part of the guest experience. Her artistry can also be found in the handcrafted cabin name plaques, helping to create the unique charm and sense of wonder that defines Secrets.
